Egg Carton Flower

eggflowercartoon004

I have made a egg cartoon flower before in my blog, but I decided to make another one because it is so fun. I have a lot of left over felt fabric and some pipe cleaners, so lets make some egg carton flowers.

I am constantly looking for a simple craft idea that you can make with your children without spending a lot of money in craft materials. I love crafts but I always look for a good budget. Easy and fun come first when you make crafts with children.

You can go in the garden, to the florist or in the parks with your children to get some inspiration with the colors to use in painting the egg carton. It is good excuse to get out of the house, so the kids don’t get bored.

Instructions for Egg Carton Flower

You need for this project: pipe cleaners, egg carton, scissors, paint, paint brush and felt fabric.

As you can see in the picture above it is so simple to make:

  • You need to cut the egg carton leaving four parts together — this will be your flower.
  • You paint it and then let it dry.
  • Now cut a piece of yellow felt fabric and roll it  – this will be the middle of the flower.
  • Finally, attach the pipe cleaner and it’s done.

Have a good week

And when you have collected your pebbles bring them home and paint the pebbles using acrylic paint. And then let them dry.

Back To School… ‘Cereal Box Bookmarks’

Hi everybody!   How has your weekend been?

Mine has been good, enjoying the good weather and starting to prepare the children to go back to school. We had a very good weather here in South England. Most of August has been sunny and hot, very good for outside activities. But now is time to starting think about preparing uniforms, buying books and notebooks for the new school year. For that reason we have this very easy and useful craft to make. It is a simple bookmark project. Recycling your cereals boxes and making this fun activity.

To make these bookmarks, you need some cereal boxes, scissors, glue, hole puncher, acrylic paint, paint brushes, colored ribbon and some colored medium beads.

Start cutting the strips from your cereal box – 18cm long and 3.5cm width. We will need two strips for each book-marker, because we are going to glue them together so that the printed sides of the cereal box are attached to each other and cannot be seen anymore. So, put some glue to attach two sides together as seen in the picture.

Let the glue dry and then make a hole with your hole puncher so you can start to paint it.

Put the ribbon with the bead to make them prettier. And then you have your recycled cereal box bookmarks !!
