Easter craft

I found this lovely craft idea here Easy Cross Craft for Easter |  and we decided to have a go.

It is easy and simple. The site:  Easy Cross Craft for Easter | gives the template for the cross.

To make the cross we use cereal boxes and we used acrylic paint to decorate the cross.

This first was made by my daughter she said that she painted an angel in the middle of the cross

Salt Dough Christmas Gift Decorations

Good Morning everybody, I hope that everyone is having a very good Sunday !! I have a very fun project to do during the Christmas holidays. It’s to make Christmas decorations to give to your family and friends. You will need the help of a grown up to make these Christmas decorations gifts.

Christmas decorations 1

To make the salt dough you need table salt, flour, and water. For the decorations: Christmas cutters, acrylic paint, paint pen, paint brush, thread, transparent bags, red ribbon, safe child scissors. It takes one day to prepare.

christmas decorations 2

First you have to make the dough: half cup of water, half cup of table salt, one cup of flour. Knead the dough until the dough becomes a smooth paste, using a rolling pin open the dough and make it flat, about 0.5cm thickness. The you can cut the shapes using your Christmas cookies cutters.

christmas decorations 3

Make a hole using a straw to put your thread for hanging your Christmas decorations.

Now is time to bake your Christmas decorations. You can choose: you can put the decorations in the oven 100C it takes 2 hours for baking dry. Or you can leave them to dry in open air for 48 hours, two days to dry completely (the time it takes for the decorations to dry depends on the thickness of the dough).

After they have dried completely you can paint them.

After the paint has dried you can draw on it. Add hanging thread and package in a transparent bag, tied with a ribbon.

Back To School… ‘Cereal Box Bookmarks’

Hi everybody!   How has your weekend been?

Mine has been good, enjoying the good weather and starting to prepare the children to go back to school. We had a very good weather here in South England. Most of August has been sunny and hot, very good for outside activities. But now is time to starting think about preparing uniforms, buying books and notebooks for the new school year. For that reason we have this very easy and useful craft to make. It is a simple bookmark project. Recycling your cereals boxes and making this fun activity.

To make these bookmarks, you need some cereal boxes, scissors, glue, hole puncher, acrylic paint, paint brushes, colored ribbon and some colored medium beads.

Start cutting the strips from your cereal box – 18cm long and 3.5cm width. We will need two strips for each book-marker, because we are going to glue them together so that the printed sides of the cereal box are attached to each other and cannot be seen anymore. So, put some glue to attach two sides together as seen in the picture.

Let the glue dry and then make a hole with your hole puncher so you can start to paint it.

Put the ribbon with the bead to make them prettier. And then you have your recycled cereal box bookmarks !!
